3rd Renewal question ?

Post by Bily Lovec »

my renewal is up, I have asked for and received my packet from the state.

how can i tell if this is my second or third renewal ?

I have my packet but didnt see anything in thee to indicate...

if it helps, Ive had a CCL from the day the law was enacted. I just cant remember how many times ive renewed this thing...

I have an email into the DPS, but no response yet.

thanks,
new guy...

At least in my instructor renewal class, the word was to let DPS sort it out, that their computer would keep track of it. But ... it appears here that they are not necessarily making it clear to those who do not need to take the class - unless license holders inquire directly, which I see you have done. If you were one of those who got a 2-year license back at the inception of the program, odds are pretty good that you meet the criteria.

I see this is your post numero uno. Welcome to the forum, btw.

If your current license expires in 2008, you must have renewed in 2003 and 1998. This year would be your third renewal.

It's best to rely on whatever answer you get from DPS, though.

Thanks guys, for the welcome and the info…
I'm still waiting on the DPS response. I hate to go take all that if not totally necessary per their requirements…
I’ll post up as soon as I hear back from them.

Good forum, I think I’ll stick around…

Let me ask an obvious question.

Even as bad as my memory is, I recall all four of my classes.

Can't you remember how many times you've taken the course?

isnt that sad ?

I can vaguely remember testing twice, but Im trying to decide if the math works for just one renewal.
I have shot a lot at different indoor ranges around houston,

when was the law passed ? was it 8 or 12 years ago ?

its hell getting old

The law was passed in '95 and licenses were first issued in '96.

My first was a two year. Since then 4 or 5 year issues.
