Why do I have to be so dang honest???

Post by flb_78 »

2nd time it's happened now.

I go into Academy and they have Blazer 9mm on sale for $8/box. I get a case of it. Walk up to the register and they scan 1000rds of ammo and tell me the total is $8.65 ................ :woohoo

I say no, there's 20 boxes in a case and they ring it properly at $172.98....

3rd time will be the charm for me. I think I'll just go ahead and pay $8.65 for a case of ammo and walk out the door.

It's not my fault they can't train their cashiers.

Actually, I probably won't. I'll have a guilty conscience. :grumble

You guys were not tempted to do that any more than if a lady left her purse in the buggy.
Just the right amount of integrety.
Good job. :tiphat:

Of course, certain "smart businessmen" would say you missed an opportunity to profit.

Bagger Vance would be proud for the lack of cheating. Honesty is priceless.

Buddy of mine had a box of skeet at wall-mart ring up the other way, 598.00 for a box of 100 instead of 5.98 (or what ever it was)

Took a manager to understand how it might be wrong, and a second manager to fix it.

I was taught at a young age to be honest even when it might seem to my detriment. To this day I'll still point out a $1 mistake on a restaurant bill or leave extra in tip to cover their loss. My dad was a strict believer in having your integrity precede you into any situation.

Nothing changes here...I am always impressed by the character and integrity of the participants in this forum...

But as usual I caveat that with a gut-check...I already know the answer(s) we could see here, but I float this idea out there anyway, because that is what I do...And believe it or not, I do not get paid to do this...

Would you feel the same if somehow this simple act of buying bulk ammo were to be on the fringe of becoming illegal, or taxed nearly beyond your ability to purchase???

Remember that in November...

I will now return to the shadow world from whence I was banished to...
