Denny Crane might be 100% Ammurrican, but Shatner is Canadian.srothstein wrote:Well, they have me convinced. Let's do a write in campaign for Denny Crane for President.

I thought the same thing.ScubaSigGuy wrote:Did he just take that guy out with an AR-7 survival rifle? I don't think a .22 would have knocked the guy down, but that's TV for you.

A bumbling idiot gun owner and obviously mentally ill due to his owning guns.Crossfire wrote:Boston Legal actually has a very strong anti-gun message. Shatner's character is the only pro-gun person on the show, and he is always portrayed as a bumbling idiot who also happens to be mentally ill. These short clips don't really give you the full effect.Kythas wrote:These clips have me wondering why I never watched the show. Thanks!
Of course the interesting thing is that when it comes down to having to use the guns, he succeeds brilliantly.

I watched the episode.
I don't watch this show, have never seen it until today. I don't watch most network TV shows. 24, House. That's it.
Anyway, this show is clearly anti-gun. But heck, it's not "Austin Legal", it's "Boston Legal". At least they reflect the opinion of those in Boston pretty accurately.

The show is highly liberal but the only reason I watch is Denny Crane. Shatner is brilliant in this role. He does use guns quite often, one scene he went in the court room dressed in an old costume carrying a musket and accidently fires into the ceiling. The attorney who was held at gunpoint is sterotype lib but actually admits he owns a gun in the last episode. Maybe the producers are coming around.
Re: Boston Legal: Dances With Wolves
Definitely Shatner's best role ever. He's brilliant.
