CodeJockey, you mean the DM Bullard is easy to take on and off?

My crossbreed is not easy to take off, but I have c-clips on it, and they are pretty snug on my belt. If I can't take my gun with me, I just take it out of the holster, and wear the holster. When I had the stock clips on my holster, it was really easy to get on and off. I don't find that there is any trouble when I drive with gun/holster in place. I'm left-handed, and keep them right about 8 o'clock.

Yeah the DM Bullard holster is very easy to remove / put on, and it's extremely secure in place. I used to take the weapon out and leave the holster on. It was very comfortable this way and easy to re-holster, but I have accumulated so much junk in my center console that having it un-holstered in there bothers me, so I just remove holster and all so that the trigger stays covered. That is just my being overly-cautious I'm sure but that's why I do it.

That depends on your circumstances. Assuming you are legal to possess a firearm, car carry is legal for you. The new car carry law makes it legal for you to carry directly to your car from home (or any premises you own or control, and directly from your car to your home, though the law is funny about leaving that part out), and while in a car that you own or are driving. While in your car or traveling to it (if it's not located on your own property), your handgun MUST be concealed. This is an exception to the UCW section of the Texas Penal Code, as you can read below. I have highlighted the pertinent sections in red.
PC W6.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS. (a) A person
commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly
carries on or about his or her person a handgun, illegal knife, or club if
the person is not:
(1) on the person's own premises or premises under the person's
control
; or
(2) inside of or directly en route to a motor vehicle that is owned
by the person or under the person's control.

(a-I) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, know-
ingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a
motor vehicle that is owned by the person or under the person's
control at any time in which:
(1) the handgun is in plain view
; or
(2) the person is:
(A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misde-
meanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic;
(B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm; or
(C) a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section
71.Of.
(a2) For purposes of this section, "premises includes real property
and a recreational vehicle that is being used as living quarters, regard-
less of whether that use is temporary or permanent. In this subsection,
"recreational vehicle means a motor vehicle primarily designed as
temporary living quarters or a vehicle that contains temporary living
quarters and is designed to be towed by a motor vehicle. The term
includes a travel trailer, camping trailer, truck camper, motor home,
and horse trailer with living quarters.
(b) Except as provided by Subsection (c), an offense under this
section is a Class A misdemeanor.
(c) An offense under this section is a felony of the third degree if the
offense is committed on any premises licensed or issued a permit by
his state for the sale of alcoholic beverages.
As you didn't go into detail about your office, I will make some clarifications about the circumstances. If you own the business or are under control of the premises (such as the most senior manager or employee in control of the office), you are within your rights to be armed with a handgun, concealed or not. If the business is not yours and you are a simply the manager, it's probably not a good idea to go about carrying openly, as you still have higher-ups to answer to, and have other employees and superiors' wishes to consider. If you own the business, you have the same authority to carry that you do at home, and you are good to go, open or concealed. You might go into a little more detail about the circumstances of your work, so that we can more directly address the specifics of your situation.

I own the office that I would be taking it to. Its a computer store for sales and repairs. I would not wear OC it in the store it would still be concealed at all times. My main concern was if I could have it on me while driving in the car. So when I left the house I would have it in a concealed holster on me and I would be wearing it while either at the store or in my car. Should that be ok? What if I am asked to step out of the car by a LEO should I tell him I have a weapon on me or take and put it in my console. Thanks D

Yes, you're good to go in your office or in the car as you described.

If you're stopped by an LEO, it's best not to bring it up unless directly questioned as to whether you have any weapons. Unlike a CHL holder, you are under no obligation to inform the officer that you are carrying, and it has been generally agreed that telling the officer that you have a gun without being asked would not be helpful. I would advise against moving a gun to the console if you're stopped. Movements of that type could get you into a tense situation. If you are asked to step out of the vehicle, then yes you should inform him (or her ;-) ) that you have a firearm on you, and ask how the officer would like you to proceed. Obviously don't make any sudden movements and keep your hands visible. Though it is unlikely that you'll face this situation, if you treat the officer respectfully and calmly, I doubt it would be an issue.

I am not a lawyer, so make sure to read the law and understand it.

Good to know how others would handle it.... I am hoping to get my CHL soon. I did take the Utah class last Friday, but that was so I could get it sooner then later as I am seeing with the CHL time frame. I am doing the next class Charles Hopper is given in November... For the CHL.. Then I wont have to worry as much... Thanks D

I am a big fan of the Comp-Tac MTAC. I carry at work while tucked regularly including all the way up to a big ole Glock 21 which is a very full size 45ACP. I also have a Tucker belt with velcro sewn to the inside and use the velcro clips which completely tuck in behind the belt. It is a very comfortable holster.

The leather backing just spreads out the load but it conceals very well. I bet if I were to walk up to you on the street you would never know I am carrying.
