Reliant Arena off limits?
I didn't think it would be but thought I would double check. Headed that way to see Jeff Dunham tonite.

They prohibit weapons: http://www.reliantpark.com/en/cms/?97" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think this stadium is owned by the City of Houston and legally should not be off-limits; but if they are performing searches at the door, you could run into a speed bump. Could be they search only bags.

Thanks Jim, I'll look for the 30.06 sign if not there & no searches.... concealed is concealed!

Until you walk through the metal detector. Let us know how it goes.elwood blooz wrote:seamusTX wrote:They prohibit weapons: http://www.reliantpark.com/en/cms/?97" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Reliant Arena off limits?
Ditto that.
I suspect they are more concerned about people bringing in alcoholic beverages than weapons, most of the time. Perhaps for certain performers they are concerned about weapons. (Why do I think this would be hip-hop or heavy metal bands?)
I'll be interested to hear a first-hand report.

Re: Reliant Arena off limits?
Show was great, they sorta looked in my wife's purse & that was it. No search, metal detectors, etc. She felt a lot better walking across the parking lots to the car.
Re: Reliant Arena off limits?
I was wondering myself but since I parked about 30' from the door I just stuck it under the seat. No security at all really, just ticket checkers. Show was hilarious.
Re: Reliant Arena off limits?
I've often wondered what the bag checkers at these places would do if they checked some woman's large purse and found a folded SU-16 or similar in there. At just under 26", it's a possibility for something like my wife's knitting bag.elwood blooz wrote:Show was great, they sorta looked in my wife's purse & that was it.

Re: Reliant Arena off limits?
This is good news. I will be going there in Dec and didn't want to leave in car. Thanks for posting.

Re: Reliant Arena off limits?
wasn't there something in the concealed carry laws about sporting events? concerts don't fall under that?
Re: Reliant Arena off limits?
uhhmmmm, yes but irrelevant, concerts and sports are two different things. I beleive sporting events were included due to morons getting violent at games.StrykerDM wrote:wasn't there something in the concealed carry laws about sporting events? concerts don't fall under that?
