Another win for the 'Victim Zones'

(CNN) -- Two people were killed and one wounded in a shooting at the University of Central Arkansas on Sunday, according to a hospital spokesman.

The shooting prompted a campus lockdown, a school official said.

One suspect was in custody and three others were being sought, police said in a recorded message.

One person died on the scene and the second died at Conway Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said.

The third person was in stable condition at the hospital, the spokesman said.

The university is in Conway, Arkansas.

"This is something you pray never happens," a visibly upset Tom Courtway, interim university president, said Monday. "Our campus is safe."
Huh? Seems to me that if some critters just walked in and started shooting folks, the campus isn't "safe".

They also seemed to indicate that the shootings were "random". Somehow I don't believe this. While the only "random" shooting I can think of that would involve multiple assailants would be some sort of gang initiation, that kind of thing doesn't generally happen in a high-density area with lots of folks around during the day. A more plausible theory to me is that these 4 individuals had some sort of beef with someone specific (perhaps drug-related), and the later gunfire was aimed at witnesses to the original event.
