Recoil of Glock 20 vs Glock 27?

Post by CC Italian »

I was just wondering now that I am getting a little more comfortable with my Glock 27 for cc. What would be the difference in recoil between the two? Does anyone own a Glock 20? My father's friend hunts boar and he says the round is great for hunters as a backup weapon. I have been going along with him and my father and my friend’s uncle while hunting the last two years and was just curious about this round. I know that it is the original .40 S&W from what the internet says but the cartridge is much longer. So any guesses or experiences with a Glock 20 vs. 27. Thanks

Full power 10mm is a handful but controllable in a Glock 20. 10mm lite in a Glock 20 is pretty mild.
We're here. With gear. Get used to it.

With "normal" factory loads, I doubt you'd notice much difference - because the "normal" factory loads these days are not much hotter than .40s. A couple of smaller companies - Double Tap and Buffalo Bore - however, load the 10 mm closer to its original specs. The real "10mm" loads (preferably hardcast or XTPs for hogs) will probably be at least another 200 fps faster out of the 20 than what you'll have out of the short barrel 27.
