Buds Gun Shop

Post by dwhitley »

Has anyone purchased from them? They look pretty good... just want to make sure before I buy... I am looking at the springfield SubCompact 9mm.... but Academy has it for $529 and it seems if I buy this from Buds after the purchase and the dealer ship to charges are done it will cost more....
Thanks David

I tend to find you can't really beat prices at academy too much, but only if they have what you are looking as their selection can be very limited!

I've purchased from Bud's twice in the past eighteen months. I received great customer service and the pistols were shipped promptly to my FFL. I would normally purchase from a local dealer if the total price is comparable. If there is a great disparity I will purchase online. Overall it was a positive experience.

I have done business with Bud's a few times with zero issues.

The website prices have ticked up as much as a few hundered dollars on some items since the Abomination won the election, however.

Most of the published prices include shipping, so you would only pay the transfer from your FFl. You would not however pay state slaes tax.

Firstly, Add 3% to the Bud's price if you use a CC rather than send a M.O. or Cashier's Check. Plus, add 1% for insurance (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) to the advertised price and then add $25, whatever, for transfer fee. That's your cost. So, how does this cost stack up to the local merchant's price with sales tax? :headscratch

I was very pleased :anamatedbanana with my XD 9 SC purchase from Bud's and am now eagerly awaiting receipt of my (insured) XD .45 Service. :fire

Get 'em while they're hot (and available)! :txflag:

If you are on the NW side of Houston there is an FFL that does transfers for $10. He's an LEO. I've done several with him. His user name on Glock Talk is "Madecov".

I purchased a Colt Commander Stainless from them a few weeks ago and was somewhat pleased with the service. Their prices were a little cheaper than gun show pricing, but the real savings is the sales tax. The shipping could have been quicker, but there is always some sacrifice for a better price. They also offer 0% interest $0 payment plans that make it really easy (too easy in my opinion) to purchase.

I purchased a Ruger Old Army from them several months ago. No transfer involved, so I can't speak to that aspect of it, but they shipped quickly and provided the best price I could find at that time. I'd use them again.

I have only purchased from them once and it was for some ammo that I could not find anywhere else. They got it in stock before the others, including local shops. No trouble at all.

I got an email from buds on Friday night proclaiming that they had contacted all their manufacturers and were able to not only get plenty of ARs, but had been able to stabilize the price. I got the email at 2300hrs Friday and checked their site at 0900 Saturday morning. They had already sold out of all but one of the deals they advertised.

I think its just a lot of hype I am a web programmer, and I can make it look like a million of people are looking at a site... so I would not get all crazy... of course I would like to get a AR-15.. but then I would be for all the hype.... I think we have some time before Obama even has time to think about gun control... he has bigger fish to fry right now...
