I’ve heard of a trigger mod for the SW9VE. Anyone have information?

Thanks. I'd found that one, but the link is no longer valid.

Tom,

See me Monday at lunch and we can talk about it. :thumbs2:

It basically involves a some major fluff and buff, an one or two spring modifications. However, since the spring mods are there, I would not suggest it for self defense as I am not sure how long the lightened springs will last or hold up.

Also, here is one that will lighten and smooth it out. Just not take up any over-travel on the trigger. http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve/forums ... 1031000282" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Also this is some other disucssion on the mod.

Disclaimer: YOU DO THESE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I had success with mine, but you have to be VERY careful on how much you metal you remove and shorten the springs. :thumbs2:

My biggest concern, as a SW9VE owner, with the "remove these springs" modifications is S&W's own warning that the trigger or sear may fail to reset depending on ammo and other things if these springs are removed. The biggest change you can make for trigger pull would be to replace the striker spring, but I think you may end up with some light strikes if you did that.

I did the mod on my gun, tried it for a while, then put it back. Really it is not worth it, IMHO, for any gun that's not intended to be a range queen. Spend that time you'd spend doing the mod practicing dry-firing with a penny on the slide until the penny does not fall off. If you don't like the DAO trigger then sell the SW9VE to someone who can use a DAO gun and get a Taurus PT92 or something else that's SA/DA.

Like I have said before, the trigger in my Sigma is no worse than the trigger in my Kahr. It's maybe 1 lb heavier. The Kahr occasionally has a light strike with the same ammo that's 100% in the SIgma. I think this is not a coincidence. Making the Sigma trigger 1 lb lighter may cost you some reliability with light strikes.

I did polish the sear and other parts and left them polished obviously.
