Flashlight for Mossberg 500

Post by Daltex1 »

I was looking into getting a flashlight for my home defense shotgun. The one I found was $265 here at http://www.opticsplanet.net/surefire-we ... 623fa.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Does anyone have a cheaper way that they have used on this type of shotgun?

I have a combination of items to accomplish this on my HD shotgun.

1. A mount adapter, such as product code LP-MT-MNT-BR005XL in OpticsPlanet
2. Then a Streamlight TLR-1 light.
3. Then a shotgun remote, which is a coil wire that goes from the back of the light, to a swtich you mount on the forend. OpticsPlanet product code SQ-ZA-TLRRSW.

Hope that helps.

I use this Swatforce light. http://cdnn.stores.yahoo.net/swtaflnew.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You will be stunned at the quality vs price. I bought it specifically for the HD shotgun. I picked up a 1 inch barrel clamp. Works great, especially with the remote switch. Love it.
Ø resist

Take away the second first, and the first is gone in a second.

$265!!!! Go to WalMart and buy the Leupold scope mounts (view through) for $11. It will moun to to the magazine tube perfectly, then all you need to do is wrap some tape around a mini maglite and it will fit to the scope mount. Hardware stores sell a push-button on-off swich for the maglights so all you need to do is bump it W/ your hand to turn it on. Shoot me an email and I'll send you a picture of my $18 setup. It works great for me. You don't need a surefire light, considering the range of a shotgun.

Here is a pic of the above setup.

The on-off switch is from Nite Ize. It just replaces the normal battery cap. Google it, they are cheap and work well.
