Was this at me? I just joined the forum, so I guess I'll apologize if the "weapon" vs. "firearm" debate is an oft repeated discussion on this forum. There's always a hot-button issue on any forum, and it's newbies like me that usually stir them up.

. . . still, when dealing with people who are likely to already despise guns and gun-owners, I think disarming them with language is always a good option. Pun intended.

Fickman - Welcome to the forum. I don't think the "weapon versus firearm" is a particularly hot topic for debate here. Since we are talking about CHL, to be more specific, I would use "handgun" vs. "weapon" or "firearm."

We had a discussion about the "weapon" word a while ago and lots was said about it. Its not even that hot of a topic but I wore myself out on it. My sigh was just my way of saying I'm not getting into it right now.

Welcome aboard. This a place where we have lots well spirited discussions, where we learn a lot and can hold those we disagree with in high esteem.
