Shameful. Ghandi's tactics worked against the Brits, but they were civilized, unlike India's current enemy.

India just won their first individual gold medal ever, in shooting! Now the champion happens to be the son of a multi-millionaire who has a pistol range in his basement. But you'd think with his national hero status you'd have more Indians, especially police, wanting to get in some trigger time.

Heck, with a war with Pakistan looming every day, and several major terrorist attacks now, you would think that you would want ALL of your citizens carrying!

Perhaps liberty and logic will prevail.

Two things stood out to me. First gun control is so complete in India that even police and security didn't have guns or at least not many. Second, those Indian police that attacked some of these guys with only bamboo batons certainly had a warrior attitude.
