Conspiracy theories are fine if that is your thing, but IMHO we should focus on the task at hand and do everything we can to maintain our RKBA so we can do what we need to do when we need to do it.

Well, what I mean by that is that the real danger of the situation is overlooked because of an overemphasis on the "Big Picture" conspiracy theories.

What started as a thread to alert people about this potential danger, became a thread that those same people tune out. This is the trouble with conspiracy theories; they turn people off in such a way that it removes the ability to educate people about current events that are happening right in front of them.

Bringing the Illuminati into a conversation about a mis-use of the military, for example, is a great way to destroy our ability to educate those who would otherwise have been happy to listen and learn.
