prevent the lint?

After carrying IWB for a couple of months now in an open-muzzle holster, I am noticing when I go to the range that my Kahr is covered in lint. Not just the muzzle either. Seems the residue of oil from cleaning is allowing the lint to stick. The holster (FIST K3) is not nearly tight enough to really prevent the lint from getting in.

You guys have a good lint preventative? I don't suspect it will cause any problem, but now that I am noticing it I may be more inclined to wipe the gun down on a regular basis.

T-shirt lint is the main excuse I give for needing to clean my carry. I haven't found a way around it... And it builds up under the slide as well as around the trigger. (I carry the baby Glock .40 S&W in an open barrel end IWB holster) I just give it a clean-cloth wipe down once a week. I guess it's just life.

I give mine a good wipe down too, but it's probably just every couple of weeks for me.

I wipe down with a sillycone rag It doesn't seem to attract dust and lint like oil does

I believe that if you are getting a lint build up on a carry weapon... (one that you will trust your life to) you need to either: clean it more often or shoot it and clean it more often. (preferably the latter)

I get lint appearing on the gun after one day of carrying. I don't think I need to clean the gun every day but it won't hurt to wipe it down every day.

Not sure how much oil is on the outside of your gun, but I make sure my exterior is dry as possible. I think you carry a PM9, so there should be very little of the outside that would need a lot of oil or a protective film. I never have an issue with lint on mine, but carry outside waistband most of the time.

I too use a silicone cloth and only a light coat of oil for the inside of the parts and only where it is needed. That said, lint and dust are going to get into and on your carry piece IWB. I use canned air to blow it off and out about once a week and that seems to do the job. Unload the gun, blow the outside off, lock the slide back and blow out barrel and mag well. I also blow out the holster as that is where some of the debris comes from. I use an open bottom holster most of the time so it isn't necessary but any with a closed bottom can gather dust and lent. Just pay attention that you don't blow the lent and such into the working parts. Keep the can far enough away you don't. If you have bigger pieces of lent you might use a toothpick or such to remove it before using the air.

I have a CW9. It ends up with a teensy amount of oil on the slide. I think I might try a bit harder to get it clean and dry on the outside.

I use the can air also, and wiped it down with a clean lint free rag. I have been using the Ultima-Lube grease on my slide rails (when I brake it down to clean) instead of oil and it seems to stay dry on the outside of the slide better.

Regular wipe down is the only way to keep it clean & lint free.

I use a dry lube on my guns. No lint problems for me.
