Holster skins

Post by agbullet2k1 »

My wife wants to get me a new leather holster for Christmas because the CTAC just isn't "pretty enough." She asked me if I want any of the exotic skins that some makers offer, and I honestly have no idea what the advantages would be. My wife says she just wants to have something that looks good so that we can pass it down to the (future) kids one day, and I can't argue with that, but with about 10 different skins to choose from, I have no clue which one to pick.

Any of you guys have exotics, and if so, why did you pick that particular animal?

I ordered a K & D Holster a while back and thought about the same thing. I decided it was going to be concealed anyway and the only time I would see it was when I took it off at night. So, I saved the money and went with the regular leather. I have not received it yet.

Shark and elephant are way more durable (according the to the makers I have asked) and look good. I like alligator for looks but it's really expensive and I have no idea how it compares to the above.

I wish my wife would want me to buy some new custom leather!

All 3 of the above will wear well. Stingray is another that looks great & wears long.

Any lizzard or snake will be the ones that are fragle, will scuff & show wear quickly.

I do not have any exotic leather & only one tooled.
