Florida Non-Resident CCW Qualification

According to the requirements to obtain a Florida Non-Resident Concealed Carry License, you must provide acceptable firearm training documents when submitting an application. My question is, would a copy of my Texas CHL be sufficient for the requirement? It's been sometime since I took the Texas CHL class, but does anyone recall what documents, if any, may have been provided by an instructor (if any and other than what was sent to Austin) from a Texas CHL class? I'm trying to apply for a Florida license and I was hoping not to have to go take another class just for a paper.

They will accept a copy of the TR-100 but I don't know if they will accept a copy of the CHL as proof of training.

You should have received 2 copies of the TR-100 (proof of class completion) from your Texas instructor. One you sent to Austin, and the other you kept.

If you do not still have your copy, your instructor should have one. We are required to keep them for 3 years.

They accept training from a lot of sources. The easiest is a caopy of your TR-100. That is what I used.

Florida accepts pretty much anything. Even an IDPA card showing you shoot in competition is sufficient. I got my Florida license before our CHL statute passed in 1995, primarily as a political statement while working on our statute. I used my IDPA card to qualify.

biggest one i can think of is having a "backup CHL" if your renewal takes 100+ days...

doesn't the PA license give you the same benefit with a lower price?

If you travel much then it might be worth the extra money and effort for FL because it covers more states than PA and gives you a few states TX doesn't like NV if you visit Las Vegas. As a backup in Texas for slow renewals you're right the PA license is easier and cheaper than FL.
