NSA Shooters

Post by anygunanywhere »

Mrs. Anygun really does not like semiautos.

She carries a S&W 642 and nothing else.

She qualified her first time around with a range rental Glock (the instructor talked her into it, I couldn't) and I doubt she will do that this next time.

Aside from wishing this restriction would go away, how many here see this as a problem?? I promise not to say anything. ;-)

IMHO, if you like revolvers and won't carry anything else, having an NSA license is not a first-order problem.

Personally, I prefer to have the state's blessing to carry whatever I like, and would qualify with a semi-auto even if that was not what I wanted to carry. You can qualify with a huge, honking service pistol that shoots like a sewing machine.

There are a few unusual circumstances where this might make a difference, such as a spouse having a medical emergency, and the other spouse being able to take charge of the first spouse's weapon. This is not a hypothetical situation. I know of it happening.

We aim to please. ;-)

BTW, around 1 or 2 % of Texas CHL holders have an NSA license. I doubt the police even look at that line.

I intended it to be ironic.

If I can avoid arrest and jail time by jumping through some hoops, I will do so. I praise those who are willing to go to jail for their convictions and have the legal backing to make a difference.
