Re: Buying To Resell

Well, with respect to the OP and the intent of the thread I'll try not to hijack it much longer.......

I will say that I do not buy to resell (intentionally).
But I go thru pistols like a woman goes thru shoes. "rlol"
Usually, the guys I sell to are on this board and they usually get a very good deal.
I have NEVER made a profit on a sale.: Guess I could right now on an AR15 though.

I buy 'em, try them out for awhile and then sell or trade them for something else to try out. I keep a few that I really like and someday I guess those will be sold as well.

It just kinda makes me mad that "Big Brother" would have me on a "List" if I chose to buy 5 pistols the same day. And as far as the Banking reference, I think it is just a way that the Banking industry forces you to keep you money there (you will be reported) once they have their grubby hands on it! :mad5

The reporting requirements for cash transactions are related to the War on (some) Drugs and tax evasion.

They also apply if you buy a big-ticket item with cash.

It is effectively a crime to have more than $10,000 cash on your person. If you are searched and arrested, the money will be confiscated. You will have to prove that you obtained it legally and paid any taxes that were due.

In my adult lifetime, you could go to the airport, peel off several C-notes, and get on a plane with a pistol in your pocket. No one blinked an eyelash. No one cared.
