Belts- Is curved or contoured better?

Ok so I've not worn a belt very much so I have a few questions. I have heard Galco makes a good belt and I've looked a the belts at comp tac as well as I have a holster from them and like it.

So now they contoured and curved belts. Looks they they say curved is the way your belts wear in and they are comfortable from the start. I'm not sure what the contoured or tapered helps.

Anyway any of your guys on here wear anything like these and have any good or bad words about them. Also I'm open to any suggestions on belts, I'm looking for something in a dark brown leather. And if it doesn't cost an arm or a leg that also helps. I'm fairly new to the Dallas/Plano area are they any good places to go look at a belt?

I just purchaced a belt from Comp-Tac and I am pleased. It doesnt sag one bit, and holds my holster and pistol in place all day long. I wear a IWB holster with C-Clips. It has a slight curve to it akin to a plane ol leather belt that as just been broken in. It took Comp-tac three days to deliver my order and needless to say I was impressed. The only con about this belt is that it is thicker than most and my cell phone clip doesnt fit quite right on it, but I didnt buy this belt for my phone!

BTW This is the first true belt I have ever owned. I had no idea a belt could feel this good. Wearing is believing!

Thanks a lot for the info they sent my holster so fast I too was extra impressed and I'd lean towards them because their service was so good.

Contoured belts are preferred for women because they fit better from the start. It decreases the break-in time, and also helps the holster fit a little better against your body.

Is this a new development in gun belts? I know my belt from [url=http://thebeltman.net"]The Beltman[/url] came already "contoured" to fit my body. It is mailed already curled up, and doesn't need a break-in period.

I can't speak for Galco or Comp-tac belts, but I sure like mine - still great after a year and a half of daily use with my Hi-Power in an OWB Galco Combat Master . The Belt Man does have a few weeks wait after ordering, though - as all his belts are custom-made. I've been satisfied with my Galco holster, and have heard good reports about their belts here in the past.

Contured belts rock. I've had my galco for 7 years and since I carry everyday it's the only belt I wear. Yes, a good leather gunbelt is thick and your phone or blackberry won't like it.

The contouring helps pull the top of the pistol in tighter so it conceals better. I have both IWB and a pancake and they both work great with my belt.

In addition to my Minotaur IWB holster with C-clips, I also have a belt from Comp Tac. I am very, very pleased with both products and, like RugerP345 states, "I had no idea a belt could feel this good. Wearing is believing!" Great gear!

I have heard great reviews on the beltman and just placed my order today for a 1-1/2" bullhide. Hope it is as good as I've heard.
