HELP: Need holster ideas for a woman

Post by Moonpie »

Help!
Lady friend of mine wants to get her CHL and start carrying.
She likes form fitting clothes. She is curvy.
She will be carrying a Snub revolver.
I'm stumped as what type of holster for her to use. :banghead:
Any lady CHL'ers out there care to voice an opinion?

The lady in the Penn & Teller gun control episode carried hers in her cleavage, don't know I necessarily recommend that though.

Fist makes some holster for women. OWB carry won't effect her tight clothes, but she would have to wear a jacket, vest, sweater or something to cover it.

Moonpie,
There are a couple of great threads about carry ideas for women in the "Women's General" and "Women Only" forums.

Suggestions such as:
purse
belly bands
strong side outside and inside the waist band holsters
shoulder holsters
ankle holsters
thigh holsters
the center line neck holster for Kel-tecs
Women on the DRAW – drill, revise, attain, win

That's funny - because that is where my mother carries hers (she is rather large breasted).
Back when I was a teenager, my mom was going through the steps to become a LEO. On one of her "ride alongs" (where she was supposed to be armed), the officer she was riding with did not see her firearm. She had to pull it out to prove she was armed.

My mom is cool. :thumbs2:

http://www.baramihipgrip.com/ I've been trying this one out. I'm a 5'10", 130lbs chick. It's pretty easy to just disappear with this one.

I posted a pic of me carrying it on my wally walk from last night if you wanna check it out. (I don't know how to link to that post though.)

So, where is this picture? This might work for Mrs. Oldgringo. She carries a S&W 638 and neither of us are real comfortable with her purse carry.

You can find it here. Scroll down through the pictures of challenging positions that often cause printing, but don't with the rig the poster is wearing. The picture showing how it is worn is near the bottom of the post.

I don't know how to direct you back to the wally walk post in here. I'm still learning the forum. This is one of the photos I posted in that thread.

I have linked this in a couple of other threads, but here is the video link. It is the entire show (29 minutes), and puts things in a good perspective for a lot of people new to firearms. I recommend watching the entire thing if you can.

There is a brief shot of this lady's carry method at 2:35, and her entire segment starts at 7:20 and goes until 8:20, then picks up at 13:55 and goes until 14:45. which contains the part where she carries the pistol in her brassiere.

Warning: there is language in this show that may offend some. Please be aware of this before you click the link.
