Is it legal to secure my gun in my vehicle under my chl in the parking lot of any school? Say my brother has a basketball game that I would like to attend, can I leave my gun in the vehicle while I'm inside? What about picking up my sister from school say just pulling through the driveway in front of the school, same thing? Thanks in advance for the clarification.

Yes, you can lock it up. There is no legal need to lock it up as long as you are with it, and are on the streets, parking lots, or sidewalks with your CHL. This assumes you are not a school employee, and have not been officially notified by your supervisor.

You can. Unless it is a private school and the parking lot is 30.06 posted.

Thanks for the replies guys. They are public schools, one is a high school and the other a junior high with the usual no weapons/no drugs signs. I'm not an employee either so I should be good to go!

You shouldn't have any problems. I attend my grand-kids games at school all the time. I have a safe in my pickup and just lock it up while on the grounds.
