Felony as a minor

Post by Reload 02 »

I had deferred adjudication for a felony when I was a minor. It was expunged when I turned 18. Do I need to disclose it on my app and if so will it prevent me from getting a CHL? If it is relevant It was a burglary charge for breaking a window and nothing more.

You DO need to disclose that. A juvenile felony will keep you from getting your CHL for 10 years from the date of conviction. So, if it has been more than 10 years, you are OK.

It has been 15 years so I am GTG but I am a little suprised it would even show up if it was expunged.

You want to let them know about it even though it were expunged. If you dont and they find it it will look like you are trying to hide it and that is NOT a good thing. Like you said it was 15 years ago so you dont have anything to worry about as long as your 100% honest.
