Police release video of Sugar Land robbery

Post by Lodge2004 »

Interesting video clip of armed robbers in a McDonalds. Since there were three of them and they moved around the restaurant quickly, it would have been a very difficult situation for anyone having dinner with their family. One apparently had a handgun, not sure what the other two are carrying.

If nothing else, this video allows us to see a real situation in progress. Just wish it had sound.

WOW that is down the road from me. I don't read the paper or watch any news usually. Scary to say the least. I'm glad to see no one was hurt, I hope it maybe inspired a victim or two to apply for a CHL.

Fairly brazen and stupid by the robbers. They left the customers at the table "unsupervised" after they entered and after they took their wallets. They're very fortunate that nobody with any kind of training and a gun wasn't sitting there. A bit of situational awareness by an armed customer would have been really bad for the thugs.

Personally I think you are taking your life into your hands just eating at McDonalds, drive-thru or not.

I'm not sure it would be all that wise to take on three armed thugs. As long as they didn't start really hurting anybody, I would probably have sat there and done nothing as well. Especially if my family was with me. I'm not all that interested in saving a couple bucks in exchange for a stray round killing someone in my family.

Let's see if a no guns sign shows up at that restaraunt.

The story says that one has a red base ball bat. anther had a silver revolver and the 3rd had a black handgun. That a hard one to call if you were not there to live it.

I can say that for my part, I would be unwilling to become involved to save McDonalds money. But, when they came
to the table they better send the guy with the biggest gun. That said, I agree with the comments about not going
to McDonalds for a myriad of other reasons.

Or Luby's? Or anywhere else that someone can walk carrying a gun? Just curious. Frankly, I'd think McDonald's SAFER because they don't generally do 20,000 a day in sales.

So, realistically, you have two immediate threats unless the batter is within a couple of steps of your location. Of course, you'll have to keep checking him during any action in case he advances or pulls another weapon, but two gangbangers with handguns against a single CHL has played out in favor of the good guy more often than not.

As with any multiple threat scenario, the best bet is to let their first indication of resistance be your first hit. This is not a situation where you want to wait until they're all looking at you before you make your first move.

That is a tough one. Unless you drop em with a single shot, they could very well start blasting the place up as they died. I probably wouldn't start shooting as long as the bad guys showed the intentions of getting the money and leaving. Starting a shoot out with three armed homies could get real stupid, real quick.

On a different note...those guys seemed to know exactly where to go for everything they wanted...maybe one of them has worked there?

It seems that 2 out of the three head for the employee area of the McD's at one point during the video. I'd take this chance to pop their homeboy. Then hit them from cover as they come to see why their friend shot someone (which is what I hope they would believe, since they probably don't expect me to be carrying). Personally, I'd be more likely to engage them with my little brothers there, since the only way to assure they don't shoot someone is for them to be dead. :fire

This is proof positive why we need licensing, registration and restrictions and baseball bats.
