3.5 # connector and travel stop on a Glock?
Anybody have any experience with putting a 3.5 # connector and Jentra travel stop on your Glock? Did it make a big difference with the trigger pull, either negative or positive? Thanks for your input.
Re: 3.5 # connector and travel stop on a Glock?
I have installed the 3.5# connector (now renamed 4.5# by Glock). I felt a difference right away on the pull, much easier, "lighter". Another good mod is the "25cent trigger job", polishing a few of the components makes a big difference.
As for the trigger stop, I have not tried this, as everywhere I read (GlockTalk, Brian Enos, etc), there are split opinions. Do a search for that topic on those forums.

I have installed the 3.5 lb connector on a total 5 pistols with no problems. All new Glocks have a very strange feeling trigger pull until you become used to them. The connector makes a major difference in the weight of pull.
Buy the Glock part, not an aftermarket part if you can.
Have not considered a trigger stop, don't really see the need.

This propensity to lighten the factory trigger pull on DAO type semi autos is indicative of the inherent superiority of SA. If God had intended for semi autos to have DAO triggers, John Browning would have stuck one on the 1911.

This is precisely why I want to lighten the trigger pull. I want the best of both worlds. I love my Glock. I love how simple it is to take down, how little maintenance it needs, the weight, how fast I've learned to deploy it -- ie, I don't want to learn to use a thumb safety.casingpoint wrote:This propensity to lighten the factory trigger pull on DAO type semi autos is indicative of the inherent superiority of SA. However, after shooting my brother-in-law's Colt .45 1911A1 and my sister's Kimber Ultra Carry (when I could finish a magazine) I decided I loved the SA trigger pull on those weapons. What I didn't like was the weight of the .45. And if I purchase one of the compact 1911s on the market right now, I'd have to trade in my Glock because of financial reasons. And then if that 1911 gives me fits on the range, I may turn it around and use it on myself after trading my so-far completely reliable Glock.
Anyhow... I was asking about people's experiences with 3.5# connectors on their Glocks and maybe what a travel stop felt like if they installed one. I'm already fully aware of the 1911 club's disdain for Glocks and other DAO pistols and their opinion that 1911s are inherently superior. But thanks for reminding me again.

Re: 3.5 # connector and travel stop on a Glock?
Wa-a-a-y back before Jentra was making a trigger stop for Glocks, I had a trigger stop on a G17. In conjunction with the 3.5# Connector, it worked very well for competition purposes. The trigger stop made for an extremely short trigger re-set. Hence the speed factor for competition shooting. I would not recommend such a combination for a carry weapon.
The essence of my trigger stop was a small hex head set screw drilled into the frame of the ejector/connector housing. Once adjusted, the set screw didn't move and the trigger pull was highly consistent.

Factory 1911 triggers seem to keep a whole bunch of gunsmiths well fed.casingpoint wrote:This propensity to lighten the factory trigger pull on DAO type semi autos is indicative of the inherent superiority of SA.
