Note to self: keep your weapon concealed.

Well, like I said, there are various versions. The one most positive to the SS agent, said that when he reached for his wallet, he could see that he exposed his weapon and that the ticket agent saw it. At that point, he informed the guy that he was a LEO and the ticket agent volunteered the information about no metal detectors w/o any question from the SS agent. Other versions say that he told the guy he had a gun but did not identify himself as LEO and then asked about whether there were any metal detectors. Here's a link that more or less covers both sides of the story: agent's side below pic in this link, though it doesn't have the part about the ticket guy volunteering the metal detector info; I think I heard that on tv. Don't know if we'll ever know the truth.XtremeDuty.45 wrote:sounds to me like he should not have said anything unless he was asked or when he encountered a metal detector.
Two words: "Chicago, Illinois".SlowDave wrote:Well, like I said, there are various versions. Still confirms that you can start a bit of commotion by the failure to conceal. Note I don't think this would have been illegal from a CC standpoint, per the "intentionally failed to conceal" standard, but it can put a bit of a disruption into your day.

Same here, I just don't ever feel "concealed" with any OWB holster. Even in winter with a heavy coat the chance of something happening to expose that holster is just to darn easy -but I suspect folks in LEO are just less concerned about it than us average Joes.Oldgringo wrote:There is no way I can retrieve my keys, wallet, Rolaids or whatever from my right pants pocket when my "heater" is at 3:00 o'clock (1500 hrs. to you GI types) OWB without exposingmyself.
