Question - New to Texas
Ok, I moved to Texas from Ohio in October. Before coming here I found that Texas and Ohio does not recognize each others license, but that Texas accepts Pennsylvania Licenses. I was able to get a non-resident PA license before coming down here. So, with that will I still need to attend a CHL class or can I apply for a Texas CHL using the PA license?

Re: Question - New to Texas
You need to take the class to get a Texas CHL. During your long wait, you can carry using an out of state CHL if Texas honors that state, like Pennsylvania. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... rocity.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Apply for your Texas CHL and just carry your rifle until your license arrives.TLD wrote:Ok, I moved to Texas from Ohio in October. Please tell me that sign is real. Please, Please, Please!
I'm headed that way in May on the way to the annual NRA Convention in Phoenix. I would love dearly to have my picture taken standing next to that sign with a bulge under my shirt at 3 o:clock, and a rifle slung over my shoulder.
If it's not real, it ought to be.

The Welcome to Texas sign is real. The text at the bottom was edited in.
