$$ to expect for XD-9 Sub?

Post by arod757 »

My wife wants to trade her XD-9 Sub for a S&W M&P 9 Sub. There's a gun shop here in town with the Smith she wants. They say they want $650 for it, which seems a little high. But with the price hikes going on right now, maybe not??? What do you guys or gals think I should expect as far as a fair deal for this trade at a gun shop?

You'll get quite a bit more money if you sell it outright. They'll probably give around $325 on trade and you could probably sell it on your own for $400+.

If you want to check a good price on the S&W, look at buds gun shop (online). Their last price on this was $524.

Thanks for the advice. The gun shop I went to would only give us $200 on trade for the XD! We said never mind on the trade and ended up looking at some other pistols -- a Kahr P9, a Lady S&W .357/.38, and a Walther PPS. Now she doesn't know what she wants to do! It should be fun looking though.

If you're near that bullet trap in Plano, they rent various guns. Your wife could try several out and then decide.

A used XD in good condition with the standard accessories should be easy to sell for $400 FTF.

Dealers need to cover their overhead (rent, payroll, etc.) so you'll usually get a higher price selling to an individual and pay a lower price buying from an individual, whether it's used guns, used cars, used laptop computers, etc. The tradeoff is a little more effort.

DON'T YOU DARE SELL TO A DEALER! :nono:

Keep as many guns OFF the books and IN private hands! :patriot:

Best place to sell face-to-face is either our Firearm's section OR http://www.texasguntrader.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you're in DFW, I'd be interested in that XD9 subcompact. Let me know.

I'm in the San Antonio area. I'll post a for sale thread when/if we decide to sell it. I appreciate the interest though.
