Stupid question about WASR AK47 magazines

My dad likes the WASR I got him so much he wants to use it for deer hunting. Due to that and the the restrictive laws in New York where he is going to use it, he needs a 5 round magazine to comply. The magazine well on the WASR accepts double stack magazines, as it has been machined out from the original single stack configuration. I have found a couple places that have both DS and SS mags. My question is will the rifle still accept a single stack mag, or is it limited to doubles? I would obviously prefer to use double stack so that the magazine will fit better. it would seem that a single stack, if it will work, would rattle, and possibly cause feeding issues. Am i correct on this?

There are MUCH better rifles to go deer hunting with than an AK

Truthfully...any "AK" double stack mag should work

So if you find a 10 rounder get it..you can probably shim it up or put a "plug" in the bottom of the Mag if you are worried if a game warden checking the round count

I can keep all 30 rounds of my WASR in a plastic plate at 100 yards with a scope and rail...this is the WASR I am selling
