Sometimes temptation is too great. Funny Outcome!!!

Post by ErnieP »

I suspect this BG debated whether to do the crime. The article suggests the BG may have heard of the Texas Castle Doctrine, and a group known as CHLs. Do you think maybe he thought he picked the wrong house?

From today's Austin-American Statesman (color added):

"Austin police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man, accusing him of injuring a 75-year-old woman while attempting to steal the keys to her car.

Gerson Ochoa-Hernandez was pushing an ice cream cart near Shirley Pitts’ apartment on Oak Hollow Drive in North Austin around 4 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest affidavit. Pitts had parked her car and was unloading groceries when Ochoa-Hernandez pushed the door open to Pitts’ apartment, pushed her to the ground and then hit her four or five times in her face, the affidavit says.

He then tried to take her keys away, according to the affidavit, but Pitts pressed an emergency car alarm button on her key chain. Pitts’ son lives close by and his girlfriend heard the alarm go off, according to the affidavit. Ochoa-Hernandez saw the girlfriend and took off running, pushing his cart and yelling, “Please don’t kill me,” according to the affidavit. He even threw money at them, the affidavit states.

Ochoa-Hernandez was picked up by police a few blocks away after Pitts had called for help, according to the affidavit. She suffered several cuts and bruises from the struggle, according to the affidavit.

Ochoa-Hernandez faces charges of aggravated robbery and injury to an elderly person with intent to cause bodily injury. If convicted, he could face life in prison. He remained in the Travis County Jail on Tuesday with bail set at $150,000."

Wow, he made sure to take his cart with him?
