It's likely to be a busy week...

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

It's likely to be a busy week...

Post by KD5NRH »

My wife goes in for her last checkup with the OB Tuesday. Her blood pressure has been borderline, and if it's not any better Tuesday, they want to induce labor Thursday, since the baby appears to be ready, and with the original due date just over a week away, she's close enough that, even though the BP risk is fairly low, it's higher than the risk with "early" labor. We've been watching her BP, and while it hasn't gotten any worse, it doesn't look any better, so we'll probably be spending the last part of the week in the hospital. With our luck, though, they'll get everything scheduled, all the arrangements made to induce Thursday, and labor will begin naturally on Wednesday. At any rate, we're well into the "could happen any time on its own" timeframe, so nobody's worried about the issue of inducing a few days before the original due date.

Rather than try to keep all the boards I'm on up-to-date once things start, I'll be posting updates first by phone and email to local family and friends, then to my blog. I'll try to catch up on the boards with the basics once everybody's settled in, but if anybody wants to keep up with it, it'll be at http://kd5nrh.blogspot.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Father we pray that You will be with this family, both to protect mother and baby and to grant Your peace to the family.
Thanks for letting us know and I'll check your blog for updates.

Lord we ask you to be with this family and mother. Give them peace and grace to go through the next few days. We pray there will be no complications what so ever. Thank you for watching over this mom and baby...in Jesus' name.

Prayers for an easier than expected delivery, and good health to mother and newborn.

She checked in early with the doctor this afternoon, and her blood pressure is holding under the level they were worried about, so now mine can go back down too

Not planning to induce, but everything's progressing a little quicker than expected, (not necessarily a bad thing, just revising estimates) and they confirmed that she could go into labor pretty much any time.

Praise the Lord, that is good news. I pray for God's hand to be upon her and his peace for both of you.

God Bless You,

Yes, but I was getting to like the idea of knowing when it would happen. :???:

Now it can happen anytime, or could wait more than a week to progress further.

Yeah, I wasn't looking at it like that, but not knowing is much harder. I pray for God to make this wait quick and to give you and the mom peace.

Blood pressure is back up a little, and she's technically in early-stage labor, so she goes in at 5AM, and they'll give her a bit of a nudge as needed to get things dealt with so the baby won't be at risk from the high BP...which should go back down on its own after the baby is out.

Camera batteries are charging, so there should be photos on the blog as soon as I get a chance to escape for a bit.

Liberty Elaine was born at 1744 Central time. 7lbs 9.8oz

I haven't even done any noise reduction on these yet...or for that matter checked either of the two digital video cameras that were running for part of the birth.

Nice looking family. Beautiful Kid. I like the name you picked out for her too.
