Carrying on school track

Post by sss »

I like to go jogging on a local elementary school's track after hours. The track is owned by Houston ISD, but is not fenced off (the school buildings are fenced separately, on the same lot) and is used regularly by people in the neighborhood in the evening.

Would it be legal to carry here, or should I leave it in the car?

You can carry there in this instance because it's not a building and it's not during an event, such as a trackmeet, practice, etc.. As soon as there is a track team meet or practice, or cheerleaders officially practicing within that area, or any other official ISD event, it becomes a no-CHLing zone.
