FWIW, read in the paper yesterday that captioned state bill would allow a CHL to be acceptable as photo ID when voting.

I'd rather be allowed to use my CHL to carry in a polling place than as ID.

Re: Voter ID (Senate Bill 362)
Why would you want to use your CHL as ID? The only time mine comes out of the wallet is when I am buying a gun or an LEO asks for ID. Otherwise, it stays hidden, just like my gun.

Yeah, forget the fact that you can't even carry your weapon to the voting area, I'm not sure why anyone would choose to show their CHL rather than your DL except to just point out to someone "hey, I've got a CHL." First rule of CHL is you don't talk about CHL.
How about we get them to require a DL or State ID to vote, and then more forward to add CHL on the list (after all, we only make up a bit over 1% of the population lol).

There is no reason it shouldn't be allowed to serve as ID. After all, a driver's license is probably the most commonly used form of ID there is, and it's a license, not an ID card. Same as a CHL.

Texas Department of Public Safety - Concealed Handgun License
Birds of a feather if you ask me. Heck, the CHL is actually a better form of "identification" as it includes weight and hair color, which are not listed on the driver license :)
