Houston Raceway Park?

Anyone know if Houston Raceway Park is posted? Got some comp tickets for this afternoon and would like to know.

Well, it is posted but, with a 30.05 sign in English only.

I am not sure since I don't follow that sport but I think it will be off limits with out being posted, under PC sec.46.035-b-(2) on the premises where a high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place,unless the license holder is a participant in the event and a handgun is used in the event;

Never been ther but is this is a race track then don't do it.

PC 46.03 Places Weapons Prohibited:

(4) on the premises of a racetrack.

Carrying at a racetrack is a third degree felony.

Thanks, I went but left my gun at home. I'm not sure but I think "racetrack" means places where betting goes on. I am going to find out for general Information. I don't follow NHRA either. My brother races and I'll go once in a while (when he has free tickets 8) ) to see him race.

Racetrack is where Paramutual betting is taking place.

Texas Penal Code 46.01
(15) "Racetrack" has the meaning assigned that term by the
Texas Racing Act (Article 179e, Texas Civil Statutes).

i was told in the class. that race tracks fall under pro sporting events and are off limits too.

That is interesting, as I am not sure what the legislature intented. It is not defined, so how did your instructor come up with that? Was it an AG opinion?

A race track where paramutual betting is taking place is prohibited by statute and definition.

It would also depend on what event is taking place at the racetrack. For example, at Texas Motor Speedway is a NASCAR race a PSE? Is a Sports Car Club of America event a professional sporting event?

Drag racing is a Motorsport. Illegal to carry at a sporting event.

No, it is illegal to carry where a PROFESSIONAL Sporting Event is taking place.

So in that case, it can vary? Meaning, on friday nights when people are just going up there for test and tune night, it wouldnt be professional. But when the Nationals are taking place (i.e. John Force) then its considered a professional sporting event?
