Night Vision Scope

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

A friend is looking for information on night vision scopes. He lives in the country and has a problem with predators killing his animals. I'm not sure what rifle he wants to put it on, but I suspect it's an AR-15.

I haven't kept up with night vision scope, so I'd appreciate any information you folks can give. He won't use it much, so he doesn't want to pay a lot for one.

Thanks,
Chas.

When I was active duty, I was the Government Purchase Cardholder for our Optical Radiation (Laser) Branch of the Air Force Research Lab. I have purchased from these two companies.

An AN/PVS-14 would be a nice system to get for what you believe he might need this for...But they work pretty well when in series with a regular optical day scope...They are a pretty penny though...$4k

I like the ATN stuff...This is a sample...A little cheaper...

Not sure what brand, but one of my CHL students has a "cheap" ($500+) 1'st generation scope with a special mount on a crossbow and says it works great on feral hogs. I took aim with it one night a while back and was amazed at the clarity, even on a "cold" archery target about 40 yards away.
