Did anyone ever here where in the park this happened? I used to ride the circuit from Highway 6 to Kirkwood and back before my employer moved offices. There is a pretty secluded stretch between Highwy 6 and Eldridge but I'd be willing to bet they got him where the trail goes under the cross streets so they could make a fast getaway.

I wish the state of Texas and County of Harris would just nullify the wordIcan'tuse Federal government and their corp of treehuggers and say "Spit on you! Get the heck out of our parks and our business." Arrest and prosecute any govt' agent persecuting or harrasing citizens of the State of Texas :txflag:

BTW, what's this "can't carry on federal lands" thing settled a few months back by the supreme court?
As I understand it, it is back on hold due to failure to get some sort of environmental impact review.
Plus it only dealt with National Parks, not COE lands.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Park jurisdictions

Harris County leases the property (Bear Creek Park and George Bush Park) from the COE. Any construction, repairs, etc. that have any impact on the flow of water through the reservoirs must be approved by the COE. There was a time a few years ago when suggestions were made to improve/enlarge the wildlife habitat. The park could renovate existing structures (permission for new construction was difficult to obtain), but could not expand the exterior perimeter fence because it could in theory disrupt the flow of water. Which is the basic premise of the COE; to control/manage the floodwaters.

The private shooting facility on Eldridge is also a lease and has recieved permission from the COE to operate. Much like the ASC does in the Barker Reservoir. I would imagine they have guidelines and required paperwork similar to what Pct. 3 does every year. I don't know how often they come available, but the COE will lease the areas of the Addicks Reservoir to individuals. Most are for livestock. I think the Barker Reservoir is almost completely taken up with George Bush Park.

FWIW, Eldridge Pkwy. from Clay south to I-10 through the reservoir is city owned/maintained. Westheimer Pkwy in George Bush Park is county. Both are also patrolled by Pct. 5 Constable and lie within Precint 3.

Confused yet? :confused5

§ 327.13 Explosives, firearms, other weapons and fireworks.
(a) The possession of loaded firearms, ammunition, loaded projectile firing devices, bows and arrows, crossbows, or other weapons is prohibited unless:

The prohibition against ammunition on COE property renders an unloaded firearm completely useless for self defense, and as such the law is clearly unconstitutional in light of the Heller decision, which contains language in the opinion specific to this very effect.

I think he is trying to take part of an existing law and add his own version of text he would like to see.

He who mows it, owns it??? I dunno, just trying to rhyme a little bit...

The Federal Park carry deal was put on a political deathbed by Obama's crew...

Here is what I believe some people think about that...

GWB pushes a relaxation of the restrictions on carrying a firearm on your person in Federal Parks/Forests etc etc...

Obama immediately came in and nixed that deal...

If it was ok for one person to "allow" us to do so, just in case...

And another comes in and says no you don't, how dare you! There is no need for that on Federal land...

If I go to a Federal park, and I carry anyway, and I am attacked by man or beast...I survive...That person was obviously wrong about what I needed...

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it...

Concealed means concealed.
So, just to be clear, you're saying you carry wherever you want; to heck with any laws other than your interpretation of the Second Amendment? Bars, federal property, 30.06 posted buildings, wherever?

I'm certain of it.
