I will be addressing Ms Nantz with my tale. When my wife and I recently visited their facility we saw the sign, aftrer we entered of course, and debated staying or returning to the car to disarm, and ultimately decided to just leave after requesting our money back.

Is the only definition of "educational facility" found in Title 3. I don't believe the zoo's response ever used the term higher education facility. We need to look further even though it is purely an academic exercise as I doubt we would find a volunteer test case.

If you look at the licenses issued over the past 3 years, they lean toward the 60 year old mark. That being said, it may be because they have more expendable income, or they may feel like more of a target. I know even pushing 50 I am getting too old to try and fight a young guy. It's kinda like this to me: 'Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he will just kill you" and "If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck' (Quotes from John Stenbeck.)

Ah... I took the Period: 09/01/2007 - 08/31/2008 pdf and looked at it. Over 66% is 57 and under. I'd never suggest that people over 50 aren't getting their permits, and for very good reasons. 64 and down is over 82%. I only wondered at the statement that "most" were senior citizens. I think it's important to avoid hyperbole when writing people who are obviously impressed with their officiousness. LOL

I just turned 40, and I've been involved in contact martial arts since I was 13. I too believe that if you're in a fair fight, you miscalculated your tactics, and I carry a gun. :)

Being the statistician kinda guy I am, I ran a chart on the three fiscal years to see what it looked like.

If you trend it polynomially (black line) with an order of 6, you end up looking like this. The highest concentration of folks are about 55 or 56. It is interesting to see the demographics like this as it makes you wonder why the trend is higher in the mid 50's to get a CHL?

EDIT TO ADD: BTW, I added 1 year on the ages of those issued in 2007 and 2 years on 2006 to get the average age in 2008.

As a 57-year-old, I suspect it's about the point when some of us feel our bodies becoming less athletic and more vulnerable.
We also tend to have acquired a number of young adult offspring and grandkids, and we feel a bit protective of them all.
