Planning for that 'moment'

Post by pbwalker »

I'm not sure what to search for, and I am sure it has been discussed before, so I apologize.

What do y'all do to prepare for a BG/Intruder? For example, do you have plans in place (Wife goes here with baby, I go here and take a defensive position, Wife opens safe and pulls out backup firepower, etc.)? Does anyone ever role play these types of situations or know of any learning material relating to this? I have, in my mind, come up with what I *think* I would do, but you never know. I've got some good spots in the home that would give me an edge, but you just never know how fast these things can work out.

Input is highly welcomed!

We do have a plan in place. Actually several for different situations. We have a safe room for the women and inside they will be heavily armed.

Thanks in part to this board and a video from NRA (new tactical video waiting to be viewed specializing in parking lots I think)
-We have plans for with kids and when we don't have kids at the house.
-I have plans for walking to/from car downtown.
-Plans in case of riot
-Plans in case of church attack
-Plans in case of potential attack by large dogs/pit bulls when walking the family cow, er canine (ironically almost implemented yesterday).
-EDIT after sitting just now in a firedrill, I realize I also have plans for the workplace.
-Most importantly plans in case of Zombie attack! You just know one day it will happen. :smilelol5:

I live alone, so my plan is simple. I carry at home all the time. If someone kicks in my door, I'm doing a Texas reload.

When I have visitors, especially lady visitors, my plan becomes more complex. But I have a plan.
