New gun dilema**SOLVED**

Post by tboesche »

AAARRRGGGHHHH! What to do What to do. :banghead:

Yes I am frustrated! I have been wanting to buy a new toy for some time now. But I just can not decide what to do. I want a bolt gun, I want a 1911, I want an AR or other "EBR type" I just can not decide what to do.

I have 700.00 bucks saved up right now, and there is a gun show this weekend. I know "good" deals at gun shows are hard to find. but there is generally a good selection.

My nephew has an SKS that he will sell me for 300.00 bucks. Detachable mags and a folding stock. SKS' are decent rifles but.....

I really want to replace the AR I sold last November, but 700.00 aint gonna get it done. I guess I could buy a lower and parts kit and bank the rest of the money until I have enough for an upper. I just hate the idea of paying current prices for a Lower and LPK. I built my last on for right at 600.00. :grumble

1911- I really like the Taurus PT1911 and could afford one now. But if I buy another handgun then I still do not have a Rifle other than my 10-22. I guess I could sell my Taurus PT145 to help defray costs and possible get or get started on both the 1911 and an EBR. But the PT145 is my carry gun, The PT1911 is an awful big gun to CC with, although I know it can be done. I carried my CZ-75 this weekend and noticed that the hammer was poking me in the love handles. I imagine a 1911 would do the same.

Bolt gun- I have no idea WHY I want one, but I do. I don't hunt anymore, but may have to some day?????? :thumbs2:

I AM SO CONFUSED!

The last gun show I went to I saw built lowers for $269 and an M4 16" uppers from Olympic arms for $450. That would be pretty close, but those were both lower quality AR parts. There are plenty of 1911's for sale in that price range new and used. I saw a decent Rock Island Armory for $485 new at the same show. Deals are out there they are just hard to spot. I think bolt guns serve a purpose but they don't have that cool/WOW factor for me. I might take that $700 and buy a nice upper and piece together the lower when funds are available. I know everyone is saying the lowers are hard to get but they are not. I have seen plenty pop back up for well less than $200, but you are going to pay $100 for a LPK. Good luck in finding what you are looking for.

That is a dilemma we all have or that we are still waiting to get enough money for our next gun
Good luck with that don't buy too many toys you might need to buy food too.

I actually restrained myself from buying a new gun the other day. Looked at a Micro-Desert Eagle and said to myself, "No" and walked out.

Slept on it and woke up with a brainstorm. Hey, I never shoot my HK P2000SK (with Laser). Why not trade it in?

I am so proud of myself.

Food is not an issue right now! right now. Who knows what the future will hold though. I have been setting aside money every payday and still manging to pay the bills and feed the family.

My wife laughs when I tell her I am stashing cash. We call it the Gun fund.

So did you trade the HK?

My nephew has offered the SKS and 100.00 for the PT145. That just makes it harder. :banghead: :banghead:

Anybody else that has Love handles care to chime in on packing a full size 1911???? How do you carry it.

Well, I made it to the gun show this weekend. I got all the parts needed to build a complete lower. Now all I need is the $$$ to buy an upper.

I also picked up a duo tone Rock Island 1911. Stainless lower and blued slide. I put 65 rounds thru it Saturday. I like the trigger. Shot real nice. Cant post a picture so y'all will just have to trust me
