Hey guys,
I am the proud new owner of a 18.5" Mossberg 590A1 and I am now looking for a case for it. I've check a few places around Houston but the cases I am seeing are in the $60 to $100 range. Is this typical for a case? I just want something simple that I can use to take it back and forth to the range as this isn't a gun that's going to see the inside of a case very often.
Can someone recommend a case, online or offline, that would fit this shotgun at a decent price? Or if $60 to $100 is normal fare, then let me know to stop being a cheapass and just get one :)
Thanks!
Looking for Shotgun Case.

This is fine for going to the range or hunting with a pump or semi-auto that is not scoped:

Academy sells them for about the same price.
DO NOT store a weapon in this kind of case. It promotes rust.
You can sometimes find hard cases at pawn shops or flea markets if you're really cheap.

Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.

Thanks for the response. I didn't know about cases promoting rust. In the chance that I need to keep my gun in a case, which type would I be able to safely store it in for an extended period of time? I don't mind paying a bit more for a good case. I'm not purposefully trying to be cheap, I've just never bought a case before and didn't know how much to expect to spend.
Re: Looking for Shotgun Case.
Hard cases that are lined with foam are suitable for long-term storage. However if they become damp inside, you will have rust problems with them.
The top-of-the-line are wooden cases that are lined with felt. They're quite expensive unless you find a used one. They're $200 and up new.
I just ran across this, can't vouch for it: http://www.midwayusa.com/Eproductpage.E ... mid=627688" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Looking for Shotgun Case.
just get a cheap foam lined clamshell case, put the gun in an even cheaper silicon treated gun sock, put it all in the case and don't worry.
I agree with Mr. Seamus about "long term storage" in the cheap foam lined cases. But, I don't "long term store" many guns without occassional "airing out".

It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!
