Okay, honestly...

...how many of us have done something like this?

I know I've shortened a plank that wouldn't fit in the car with a .243, and cleared mesquites (and even a standing dead oak) with a shotgun.

I've removed web-worm infested branches from old walnut trees with an antique double-barrel shotgun in my grandpa's back yard. Nothing holds a candle to that guy that shot himself trying to change a flat tire...

Occasionally I find a cockroach in the house big enough that my natural instinct is to reach for the .45

Uh...no.

Clearin' mesquites out in the hinterlands of your own property with a shotgun ain't the same as portraying a guy about to discharge a pistol in order to shoot the top off a pickle jar in his suburban home.

I think the Brady Bunch would love that cartoon.

They probably had a hand in making it[sarcasm]. I am sure they believe all gun owners are reckless, and this accurately portrays the mindset.

A few years ago, I was stripping a bathroom to remodel.
One of the vintage features of this room was wall-to-wall mirrors (in a bathroom??)
Glued to the wall, I needed to remove them. But I had to break them up to do so.
Did not want to use a hammer and have shrapnel flying back at me.
:evil2: So I loaded a CB cap into a .22 pistol, got behind a doorframe and fired.
It bounced off!!
Then I went to regular .22LR rounds.
That did the trick, and I was able to pick off the pieces in manageable sizes.

My wife still embarrasses me with that story in front of strangers

Actually, the Day by Day cartoons tend to have a pro-gun slant. They are a cross between Libertarian Manifesto, Scooby Doo, and Playboy.

Here are their gun related cartoons.

Well, he didn't use a gun, but Mr. Bean had a bright idea when he used explosives to paint his living room...

Wow. I would think a hammer, long sleeves, and safety goggles would make a lot more sense in that situation.

If I absoltely had to use a firearm "rlol" I would think target-load #8 birdshot from a cylinder bore would be a much better way, especially since wall penetration wouldn't be as much of an issue. If that .22LR had managed to hit a copper water line, PVC wastewater line, or electrical wiring, your simple mirror demolition could have suddenly been a much more expensive a project.

I use my guns to turn off my lights and television. Sadly, they never come back on.
