I shouldn't have bought that 9mm ammo...

Post by iratollah »

...because a Ruger LCP followed me home.

Got a text alert that Academy had some 9mm on the shelves and since I'm hoarding, thought I'd go score another 100 rounds or so.

In their pistol case they had a Ruger LCP, I've never seen one in stock at any store. They had two of what they call the kit version, comes with a spare mag and hard case. So I bought one, even though they had no .380 ammo and I don't have any at home. Seems like everyone else has been buying pocket .380s, I was feeling left out.

One of the salesman asks me if I want ammo, he pulls out a box of 50 Monarch HP, says he was buying it for himself but since I was buying the gun and didn't have ammo, he'd let me have the box.

So now with a new pocket pistol, I'll never have to go naked again. Unloaded, it's lighter than my Beretta .25 and I think it will use the same pocket holster. Recently it's been suggested to me by several folks that I elevate my levels of caution. So hello LCP.

Text came from a buddy who works near that store and has been checking it regularly. He's new to shooting and asks me lots of questions and lets me know when he finds ammo.

Everyone has their own comfort level for number of rounds and I'm hovering close to my minimum. Problem is if I go to the range and use some of my precious...

Congrats on the new member to the family. The grip extenders are a great addition to the LCP mags if your hands are very big. It gets an extra finger on the grip. It doesn't add that much bulk to it either and will still conceal well. :tiphat:

For me, the extension makes it harder for me to hold, but I have sausages for fingers. The extension hits me in the middle of my middle finger. I should trade that mag for one without the extension.
