You're right. I guess I saw mobile home and thought trailer.

I didn't mean that you were biased. I meant the author of the story seemed to be using a stereotype.

What the story does not say is it would have happened had he not been a CHL instructor. Just makes for better media that way. Especially a media that is liberal and slants towards gun controll.

Bad news sells, nobody wants to read about good deeds and wholesomeness. The badder the better for the media.

Very true, they are like vultures circling and waiting to come in for the kill...and anything that happens with the word GUN in it that makes it even better, however, it is even juicer when they hear CHL!!

The real losers here are the families left behind and I pray God will be with them.

But here are a couple of counterpoints:

Yesterday, a former Houston police officer was found guilty for the second time in the murder-for-hire of his estranged wife in 1994. His first conviction was overturned on appeal.

Last week, a city council member in Helotes was arrested for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

As I've said many times, no license, certification, college degree, or sworn oath is a guarantee against evil; and no law can prevent it.

This is a double stroke for gun control propoganda. Not only is a person who teaches others when and when not to use a firearm accused of killing his wife, but there is the argument that a gun in the home is more likely to be used against a member of that household. http://www.guncite.com/gun_control_gcdgaga.html

This is not good.

Amen to that. There is a weak spot in every group no matter the level of training or background checks.

Thanks, but need to give Seamus props for that quote.

Been thinking about this, and while I hate to bring this up, the US soldier who killed his own fellow soldiers in Iraq recently is a good example of the above quote. There is ALWAYS at least one bad apple in every group; no matter how brave and courageous the rest of the group may be. :patriot:

Again, I'll put the criminal records of CHL holders up against the general public or a group of gun haters any day.
