Massachusetts man arrested for having 30,000 rounds of ammo

Post by TheArmedFarmer »

Garcia, who allegedly bought thousands of rounds of ammunition and had 10,000 bullets [sic] in his car when he was stopped by police Thursday, was ordered held on $500,000 cash bail yesterday.

Garcia is charged with three counts of possession of a high-capacity firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and illegal storage of a firearm. His case was continued until June 12.

Garcia told police he only intended to use the bullets [sic] for target practice at a rifle range, Holland said, disputing Garcia's explanation. His common law wife, Elizabeth Reynoso, consented to a search and police found another 20,000 rounds, Holland said. They also found one .38-caliber and two 9 mm handguns, and $25,000 in cash, Holland said.
I think most of us Texans on this board would be felons of the highest degree. 30K of ammo sounds like a pretty good number, if you ask me. I wouldn't live in Mass. if you paid me a billion dollars.

I would like to believe there is something more to this story. Is there a law in that state concerning how much ammo one is allowed to have in their possession?

Notice how they said some of it was in .22 caliber. It would be really easy to have a couple thousand rounds of .22 ammo laying around.

That's so 18th century.

The events at Dike Bridge are representative of Massachusetts in the 20th and 21st centuries.

I lived there a life time ago. I don't believe it is against the law to own 30,000 rounds of ammo in Mass. They don't like guns with larger than 10 round magazines though. Cops there aren't too fond of anyone who isn't white either, although they take great pleasure in calling the unenlightened Southern stated biggoted. I believe you have to be a US citizen in order to own a gun or buy ammo in Mass, Rules have changed a lot in 20 years though and the people have gone plain stupid.

Liberty:
I am also a Mass. native. It's too bad that the state that started the shooting in
the Revolutionary War against the super power of the day, England, has taken
such an "anti" turn over the years with regard to firearms.

The logo of the University of Massachusetts is a Revolutionary War era Minuteman,
holding a musket. Some years ago the PC patrol at U Mass/Amherst wanted to take
the musket out of the picture since it was "too militaristic". Give me a barf pan.

Mass police have a few other nasty tricks up their sleeves when it comes to guns:

1. 18 wheeler drivers get stopped for speeding. Many are from states which treasure
their Second Amendment rights. The cops discover a handgun and the poor trucker is
arrested on serious felony charges.

2. I could not find a citation to support this next one, but I believe I heard it on Tom
Gresham's (sp?) GunTalk: In most states if you are travelling through and have your
handgun and ammunition in a case in the trunk, inaccessible to the driver or passen-
gers, you are OK. Mass. police are arresting anyone they find who is in that situation.

Back in 2000 I had a driver working for me that was on a run up to Mass. He passed out from what turned out to be undiagnosed diabetes.
He managed to stop the truck before passing out. When the police searched his truck they found a single shot derringer in his bag.

I had to fly another driver up to pickup the truck, and 1 year later send another driver by to pick him up when he got out and bring back to Texas.
