Military forcing troops to register all guns privatly owned

I'm sure some will be quick to jump in and call Alex Jones a nut case but I heard about the MIAC and DHS Reports from his sites before any main stream coverage.

Any troops here know anything about this?

From what I heard a single unit commander issued that to those under his command and the Army came down on him pretty hard for it. It was stopped immediately and thats the last I heard about it.

At Lackland you are only required to "register" hand guns you store in base housing where you live. But that same rule also says you are supposed to diable or lock it up (wonder if Heller has an impact on that being it is Federal Property). but anyway, I live on base and I do NOT own any of those things to register anyway.

There was a thread here about Foot Hood requiring soldiers to register their guns (On or off base) and those of anyone living with them (obviously off base). I do not know details about this policy as I have not asked my BIL (sisters husband) about it. But I do know for a fact that all guns brought into on base housing has to be registered at Hood.

Alex Jones is a nutter.

I wouldn't trust him to tell my mother how to get to the grocery store.

This is old news, was discussed in a previous thread, and as AFJailor noted, was stamped out (by the Army itself) rather quickly.
