A good start would be these guys:

http://gun-deals.com/ammo.php

The deals are verified on a regular basis, and registered users can flag a posted deal (e.g., out of stock, price incorrect, etc.) in order to help keep things current. The more people who contribute, the more valuable the resource. If the same product from the same vendor has been posted previously, it even keeps track of pricing changes. If nothing else, looking over the vendors/sellers shown will give you a good launch-point to start visiting them yourself to browse around. I can't think of a major ammo seller who isn't represented in their database.

No place is guaranteed today. Midway, Natchez, Graf & Sons, Ammo to go are all places I look at. Sometimes they have what I want but you have to check them regularly.

The internet places are having the same problems the retail stores have. No one has any to ship so they can sell it. Ammo To Go is at every gun show with a booth set up. Not under their name of course b/c then the people like me that check their site regularly would complain when they price gouge at the shows. I hate to say, but the days of being picky about what you shoot are on hold right now at least until the market catches up. Grab what you can and shoot shoot shoot. I buy usually 1k rounds at a time of pistol ammo so don't have to scramble when I want to go to the range.

try this one;
http://www.ammoengine.com/find
It is supposed to show "in stock only" but it is updated at 3AM and either some listings are wrong or got sold out since the update.
It is a good place to start though.

I use gundeals.com also.

Went there got all excited at 100rds for $36 then I read the side of the page where it says 5-7 weeks behind schedule.

Well, all I can say is that there are exactly 201 vendors on file at gun-deals.com; as I said, that includes every Internet vendor--and most brick & mortar--I know of. I can post the complete list, if you want. Ammoengine.com looks at only 16 vendors, but it does attempt to automatically crawl the vendor sites each night...but it can't tell what's actually in stock, only what's listed.

If you're asking us to tell you where you can be assured of finding ammo in stock and available, we can't do that...'cause we just don't know. It changes hour to hour. As soon as we post something we've found, it's liable to be gone. If you remember the posting recently about Graf & Sons having Federal ammo on sale, the very next posts indicated they'd ordered immediately, only to receive an email that the ammo was being rationed.

That's just the way the market is right now. Unless someone works for a vendor and can promise to hold an order for you (insider trading?), nobody's gonna be able to tell what you want to know. Sorry, and good luck.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Check the site out daily for awhile and you get to know which postings are accurate. For what I am looking for, The Cabela's, Ammuntiontogo, Graf's and some others are pretty accurate at being in stock. For me it cuts down on checking every website all the time.

EDIT: The website needs an ignore button for Georgia Arms....5-7 weeks behind doesnt equal "in stock" However this is a new site and he is trying to work out the bugs. I will keep giving the site a look since it has helped me in the past.

Georgia Ammo has a good reputation. They are running 5 to 7 weeks out. The prices are not too bad. Here is their link http://georgia-arms.com/ammunition.aspx
