"This is an assault weapon..." :banghead:

"Illegal guns..." :leaving

There are a few more but I'll let y'all catch the faux pauxs in this video...

What is funny, I bet the "assault weaponry" is picked thru before it heads out to be melted...

What a bargain for those fellers in the LAPD...

"We've taken an illegal weapon off the streets and ......."

How was the weapons illegal when they started the story saying that they were received from a gun buy back and the majority came from peoples homes who just did not want them anymore?

"This is an assault weapon........"
I can guarantee you that if that rifle was in fact fully automatic (real assault weapon) that they would not have melted it. They would keep it for one of their police agencies.......

Never expect anything but cognitive dissonance from L.A. media.

What a waste of perfectly good weapons, you know they could have sold them and taken some of that massive debt off of the state.

It was not a waste, they got plenty of good... rebar...
Now they will have to go further in debt paying someone to install all that rebar.

Am I correct in saying that private firearm sales are verboten in Kalifornia?

Typical government waste. If they just sold those through some company on gunbroker and let them make make 30% of the sale and they make the rest in profits minus their man hours they could buy all kinds of equipment to really help fight crime.
My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.

It's all in the presentation. Some know better and the others, led by the LA Times, fall for it.

Speaking of the state's financial plight, you'd think some of those left wing entertainers would come to the aid of the mother ship, wouldn't you?

IIRC, yup. Any transfer has to go through an FFL, including the mandatory 10-day waiting period.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
