Is he talking about Obama's secret service detail?Nicolai wrote:Hmmm. According to David Smith, from Bulverde, in a letter to the San Antonio Express-News, published 22 May 2009, "Many Texans believe, as I do, that a person in the 21st century who thinks it necessary to carry a loaded weapon everywhere is himself pretty 'deranged.'"

"Ees gun! Ees not safe!"

Kind of interesting to try and get into the minds of your opposition (and in this case, can be a tight fit
). I think they see the original comment about trying to prevent "deranged people" from causing a major campus catastrophe, and in their head, they immediately see gun people as equaling those folks. If you think about it, if you're a city-type do-gooder who has never known anyone that owned a gun (much less *carried* their gun!), all you know about guns is likely from tv. And on there, there are only cops and nutcases who have guns. I think they would be completely surprised if for one day, they suddenly knew everyone around them that was carrying a gun, or sat down and had an intelligent conversation with one.
I think the idea of a law-abiding, responsible American citizen carrying a loaded weapon is just outside their capability to imagine. Therefore, these CHL laws are allowing more nutcases to carry weapons. (I guess why the nutcase psychos were dissuaded from carrying against the law w/o the CHL is on the other hand, something they can understand that I cannot.)

it's funny, Internal Derangement is a term we see in reference to Knee Anatomy.
Got some Internal Derangement? Get an MRI.
course, I'm thinkin' somebody with a bad knee might have a limp, and somebody with a limp might appear weak to a predator, and therefore somebody with some Internal Derangement might actually need a gun!!!
here's your buzz phrase for the day. "I'd rather be DeRanged than DeFanged."
I won't copyright it, you can use it...

FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

I think I missed all the terms related to my dislocation other than "That's not supposed to be there...that's not supposed to be able to be there...hold still, this is gonna hurt a lot." I was way too busy screaming obscenities after that.DoubleJ wrote:it's funny, Internal Derangement is a term we see in reference to Knee Anatomy.

Apparently it happens a lot more often when you're being treated on the sidewalk where you fell by a retired combat medic who happened to be jogging by.DoubleJ wrote:it happens...

OTOH, I have no doubt that getting it all back where it belonged within the first minute saved me a lot more pain later. I was on a cane for a few months, (should have been on crutches for most of that, but I'm a danger to myself and others with those things) and it still sometimes bothers me now, but describing the position of the kneecap and the angle my leg had ended up at to my doctor later, he said I was lucky to not need surgery, much less be pain-free 95% of the time.
