Reported by Rena Guillory
June 30, 2006 - 4:41AM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating what it believes is a murder- suicide in China, in west Jefferson County.
Four people were killed and a Jefferson County sheriff's deputy was shot and injured.
Authorities say the officer was shot in the arm when he entered a home this morning on North China Road.
Two adults and two children were found dead inside the home, including the man investigators believe fired the shots.
The sheriff's deputy was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital by helicopter. He's undergoing surgery, and authorities say he's in stable condition.
We have KFDM News crews at the scene, and we'll update the story as soon as we get new information.

Deputy Martin is in serious but stable condition after surgery, he was able to return to his patrol car, break out the drivers side window (he lost his keys in the scuffle) call for help, retrieve his shotgun and return fire. the backup deputies are credited with saving Martin's life by using a flex cuff to stem the arterial bleeding.

This was a domestic call gone bad - - - the man was served with divorce papers a couple of days ago - - - he killed his wife and two of their children the oldest son escaped to a neighbors house to call for help and a friend of the dead girl was found unharmed hiding in a closet.
