Welcome to the board and thank you for sharing your journey from
"Anti" to "2d Amendment advocate."

Your Glock 23 is also the carry gun for one of the US Representatives
from Utah. Steven Colbert interviewed him (I forget the Rep's name)
and asked him if he was carrying right then during the interview.

The rep's non-committal reply: "Maybe."

Regarding holster selection:
Austinrealtor pointed me in the direction of the Bianchi Model 82 Carry-Lok.
I ordered one last Thursday night, it arrived Monday morning.
This holster is awesome. It has a retention feature to keep your pistol
from falling out of the holster or being grabbed by a BG, yet is easily moved
by 1 finger during a draw. You don't have to make a loud unsnapping sound,
as with some other holsters that have a retention strap. It's an OWB rig that
holds the holster close to the body and with a long enough shirt, you're ready
to take your Wally Walk (that's your obligatory 1st walk through Wal-Mart, once
you get your plastic, and your Glock is on you).

For best pricing, go to http://www.froogle.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
This is a shopping site run by Google. Find your product from multiple vendors,
then "sort ascending by price" and you will find the cheapest place to buy it from.

Mine came from ManVenture Outpost in the Tampa, FL area. Very fast service.

For a good example of the education you can get here about CHL response and tactics,
see the threads about "OKC pharmacist shoots robber, but is charged with 1st degree
murder" thread (has a shorter name actually) and "Houston Robbery Video - Would you
draw and shoot?"
