New(to me) Mossburg 835

Post by 74novaman »

Mossburg 835, with a 30" smoothbore and a 24" rifled barrel. an 18" smoothbore for home defense duties is in the plans. Picked it up used with both barrels for ~250.

Both barrels have compensators. Hopefully sometime soon I'll get out and see how it kicks. 8)

Yes. It'll accept 2 3/4, 3, and 3 1/2. I'm itchy to go break it in. :hurry:

First addition to the Mossy. Still looking for a shorter (18") barrel, a way to mount a flashlight, and a mag tube extension. But for now, the ability to carry extra shells is a start. So right now, I can carry 10 rounds of 00 buckshot on the gun. With the mag tube extension, that will make 7+1, and 5 on the stock. 13 rounds of buckshot will do, right?

I put it on the left side because I'm a left handed shooter. This way, I can keep the gun on target (even though with the long barrel its heavy as hell), reach across and extract shells from the carrier with my right hand. I've practiced this and can reload the gun pretty quickly.
